Howard Silverman is Ecotrust's Director of Public Information. Working with the organization since 1999, he has guided the development of Ecotrust communications and publications in a wide variety of media. Under Silverman's leadership, Ecotrust's communications and Citizenship staff provide strategic support to the organization as a whole as well as its individual program areas. He leads a staff of five in brand development, art direction, messaging, event coordination, public engagement, editing, writing, and design.
His public speaking covers a wide range of topics and has included events and workshops with: Portland State University Center for Urban Studies, Portland State University Hatfield School of Government, Portland Metro, Audubon Expedition Institute, Bioneers, and Cascadia Convergence.
Silverman received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and comes to Ecotrust with a background as an English teacher, web designer, and translator of Mandarin Chinese.
