In an effort to make our event venues accessible to non-profits of all sizes and financial means, we have created a Community Grant Program. We are excited to be accepting proposals for our third round.
Preference will go to proposals for events which areThe strongest proposals will be for events which are:
- Mission driven and invest in the community in a positive way.
- Are held at the Natural Capital Center and are a good logistical fit for the Billy Frank Jr. Conference Center or the Outdoor Terrace.
- Planned by or directly benefit a local non-profit organization.
Additional consideration will be given for:
- Events that are open to the public and are free or of nominal charge.
- Events that are unabashedly hopeful in nature.
- Events that have a solid marketing or community outreach plan.
Award Amount
Up to six applicants will be awarded one day rentals at the Natural Capital Center. Awards will cover costs of the venue which includes the standard amenities and services (please refer to the awards package for a complete list).
Award Parameters
Awards will not cover additional expenses that may be incurred as a result of holding your event at the Natural Capital Center. This may include, but is not limited to, catering fees and outside equipment rental fees (please refer to our list of caterers).
The Community Grant Program can not accommodate Saturday evening rentals after 5PM.
Timeline
Proposals will be accepted for events occurring between July 1, 2010 and July 1, 2011. Proposals for this round will be reviewed in June 2010. Our next round is projected for early 2011.
Here is the timeline for the current round of awards:
- Application materials due: 5:00 PM, June 1, 2010
- Proposals reviewed: June 1 – June 11, 2010
- Award recipients and all applicants notified: June 15, 2010
Application Process Guidelines
Please submit a cover letter and a completed application by June 1, 2010 to the email or mailing address below (emails are preferred). Late and/or incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.
