Parking Lot

Each Thursday during summer months, the Natural Capital Center's Parking Lot is transformed into the Portland Farmer's Market. Brimming with locally grown produce and other sumptuous treats, the market attracts locals and visitors alike who crave fresh, healthy foods. The Parking Lot, with its 11,000 square feet of uncovered space, is the prefect place for community events, and it is available after 5PM during the week and on weekends.

Parking Lot Hours:

5PM–10PM Monday — Friday and 7AM–10PM during weekends.

Labor and Equipment:

All necessary labor needed to load-in, setup, run, and teardown the event, must be provided by the client, including setting up blockades and signage in parking lot the day of the event.

Any necessary equipment, furniture, or audiovisual equipment for this event needs to be provided by the client or be rented from an outside source at the client's sole expense.

Outdoor Sound:

Speakers should be directed toward this event and not into the surrounding neighborhood. All outdoor amplified sound must end at 10PM. Amplified Sound above 65 dBA requires a Noise Variance from the City of Portland. Noise Variances require notification of the neighboring properties and must be applied for three weeks in advance. It is the client's sole responsibility to secure the necessary permit from the city. Noise complaints after 10PM will end the event. Rental fees will not be refunded if the event is ended prematurely due to a noise complaint and the deposit will be forfeit. Furthermore, should there be a citation issued for noise, the client will be held responsible for the payment of the citation.

Electricity:

Electricity is not available in the Parking Lot. Arrangements for electricity must be made by the client, at the client's sole expense.

Cleanup:

Throughout the event, all broken glass must be attended to immediately. The client, or their caterer, will be expected to bag recycling and garbage and at the end of the event remove to the building's recycling center. All rentals and equipment will be removed at the end of the event.

Parking:

If the full parking lot is being rented, the client must provide six offsite parking spaces for retailers. All parking arrangements will be coordinated, paid for, set up by the client.

Access to Restrooms:

The Natural Capital Center's restrooms are located on the 2nd floor of the building near the Billy Frank Jr. Conference Center. While limited access to these facilities is allowed with the rental, the client may be required to provide additional portal toilets, depending on the estimated number of attendees.
