Guide to Local and Seasonal Products
For fishermen, farmers and ranchers alike, well-used, dog-eared copies of the Guide — used to both buy and sell product — have become an indispensable part of doing business in the Pacific Northwest. The Guide to Local and Seasonal Products matches farmers, ranchers, and fishermen with chefs, retailers, institutions, caterers, and other food buyers with an interest in purchasing local products.
Participating producers are categorized by the products they sell as well as listed alphabetically. This makes it easy for buyers to look up a product, such as beets or salmon, and then cross reference the index to obtain contact information and details about a seller's product. The buyers listed in the Guide are pre-qualified as having an interest in buying directly from local farmers, ranchers and fishermen. Let the buying and selling begin!

What about the 2009 Guide?
For the last year, Ecotrust has been incubating a project called FoodHub, an online directory and marketplace. All the records within the current iteration of the Guide will be transferred – with necessary permissions – to FoodHub this spring. Historically, the Guide has been updated every year and those with active records were sent a print version of the new edition. However, thanks to FoodHub's much improved search functions, users will be able to print or electronically store their own customized searches – a feature that should make printing the Guide in its entirety largely unnecessary. We will still print and distribute a small number, but not in the quantities of years past. As a result, in 2009, Ecotrust does not intend to mail print versions of the Guide to those listed within it. You can learn more about FoodHub here.
