Emerging Leaders

Ecotrust is committed to supporting the next generation of indigenous leaders in their pursuit to strengthen their capacity to preserve and protect their tribal and natural legacies. As such, we provide scholarships to undergraduate and graduate native students, helping them access opportunities for higher education through our Emerging Leaders project.

Since 2006, we have provided $215,000 in scholarships to over 100 native students studying natural resource management, environmental law, public health, planning, economic development, and social sciences. These students will be able to bring their knowledge back home to further develop and rebuild native economies, steward the natural environment, and celebrate their rich, historic cultures.
