Sean Galloway

In 1995, R. Sean Galloway received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology. After graduating, he moved to Portland Oregon where he continued to pursue photography by working in a commercial studio for eight years. He then opened his own studio focusing on commercial photography. His various clients include Joes Outdoors Sports Goods and Nike footwear.
In the past four years, Sean has been photographing panoramic landscapes aimed at illustrating vast spaces and built environments.

Inspired by the grandness of the Columbia river and the man’s attempt to control the environment, Sean set out to photograph the Dalles Dam and surrounding area. The photographs on display capture the inherent conflict between the power the dam provides and the alteration of the natural course of the river and the impacts to tradition.
