For editorial board wonks like us, Monday was a lively day. First, we were among the 1,700 or so who attended the Portland State University stop of the book tour by New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, whose column frequently appears on these pages. It was a tour de force, with lots of names, exotic deadlines and titles of the chapters in Friedman's newest book, Hot, Flat & Crowded.
