Ecotrust Food & Farms says a heartfelt "Thank You" and asks for your support

Ecotrust’s Food & Farms program works to create a vibrant regional food system where citizens have daily access to the Northwest’s bounty. Whether by introducing a farmer to a chef, a local food processor to a school procurement manager, or a new convert to the pleasures of eating with the seasons — we make connections that result in positive change.

As the end of the year approaches, we’re taking stock of our 2009 accomplishments. Some highlights from the year include:

  • Ran an aggressive statewide campaign to get more local food into public school meals, making the notion that regional farmers can and should provide products for schools a familiar and desired concept for state legislators; the campaign won the Oregon Bus Project’s “Wheelie” award in the “Best Campaign for the Public Good” category.
  • Published four issues of the award-winning seasonal magazine Edible Portland and received two 2009 EDDY Awards for publishing excellence at the annual Edible Communities publishers meeting.
  • Made it much easier for regional food buyers and sellers to connect and do business by launching FoodHub, a much anticipated tool for strengthening the regional food system.

As a regional organization with national impact, we can use your support no matter where you live. Please consider making an end-of-the-year financial contribution to the Food & Farms program. Every donation helps make our work possible.
